I have always enjoyed building relationships with people and have worked for the Probation Service and the NHS in the past.

Whilst having a career break, I began volunteering with FACT at their charity shop in Blaydon.  I chose FACT because they are a local charity and I have personal connections with cancer and felt this was a cause I could support.

I was later approached to be Health & Wellbeing Coordinator for Sunderland  and South Tyneside.  This role involves working alongside medical, community and voluntary organisations to ensure they are aware of the services FACT offers and the support that can be accessed by their patients/clients.  I also run the community hubs in those areas.

I love my job, and enjoy the variety it brings - no two days are the same!

The FACT team are an amazing bunch. I felt welcomed and included from the start, and a year on I feel like part of the furniture - in a good way!
