I became involved with FACT when I was retraining at the grand old age of 50 to be a Counsellor.  I approached FACT when seeking a placement I required in order to gain qualified status.  Working for FACT was especially poignant due to experiences I had with cancer  within my family as well as friends.

I have continued to work as a Counsellor at FACT since qualifying, as well as a Health and Wellbeing Co-ordinator for North Tyneside and Northumberland.  This role involves me raising vital awareness of the services FACT offers to patients, friends and family affected by cancer.  I also assist in running the Whitley Bay Hub.

In my spare time I enjoy being a new grandma (I graduated and became a grandma in the same year)! I also enjoy tennis and cycling. I love working at FACT and being a member of the ‘FACT family’.  The diversity of the role ensures I am constantly evolving personally, as well as widening my knowledge.
