It is with the deepest regret following advice from medical professionals that we will close our support centres until further notice and cancel our Annual Ball scheduled for this Saturday, the 14th of March 2020. Our charity shops will remain open and our staff will be at work to support our FACT family remotely.

FACT will continue to support their beneficiaries through this difficult time through alternative mechanisms. We recognise that the support we offer is to the most vulnerable and we will continue to help them remotely. FACT will do this through telephone counselling calls as opposed to 1-1 counselling meetings, delivering kindness kits of food & toiletries to their homes as they self-isolate and generally be at the end of a telephone for any queries or concerns they may have.

This will have an enormous impact to our beneficiaries and the charity itself. The people we support are often in the middle of their cancer journey, receiving treatment and generally not 100%. FACT always has their health and wellbeing at the heart of what we do, day in day out and we would never put that at risk.

FACT’s annual Ball raises valuable funds for the charity to support anyone affected by cancer in the North East. We will look to reschedule the ball later in the year however the cancellation of it now will impact the charity itself and FACT’s cashflow. The number of kindness kits needed will significantly increase along with the costs to facilitate.

Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience. We call on the public to help us through this troubling time with a donation, please follow the JustGiving link below.
